I started working with Alina a few years back, after feeling like I had hit a dead end in trauma therapy. I, like many people, thought I would find my healing by understanding exactly what had happened, and would spend hours ruminating on the actions of others. It was something that often consumed me, long after it had stopped serving me. By doing this, I was not taking responsibility for my own peace.
After a while, all this did was make me focus on negative thoughts and feelings. I felt stuck, like I had no agency of my life due to circumstances beyond my control.
Alina gently and compassionately encouraged me to shift my way of thinking to one focused on opportunity. Hardships became lessons, conflicts became mirrors and I became a happier, more content person.
By leading my attention away from the past and into the present, I worried less and took leaps in my well-being. Recently, with Alina’s guidance, I was able to resolve a conflict that seemed hopeless at first. By consciously stepping into compassion rather than blame, I was able to shift the conversation to one that was kinder, and more productive to both parties.
What surprised me most, is that when I focused on my mindset and inner world, many situations started resolving themselves without much effort. Before working with Alina I had been in therapy for years, and would spend whole sessions talking exclusively about the ‘problem’, only to not make progress and feel drained afterwards.
This growth based approach, is what I believe makes Alina an exceptional mentor, and what sets her apart from mental health professionals I have worked with. I cannot recommend working with her enough.
