Enesa Halilovic – Reflection Space

There is a story you get told by other parents when you first get a diagnosis for your special needs child. The story goes like this:

A special needs parent fell into a hole.
Family members: What hole?
Boss: Oh, that’s a shame! Can you work overtime today?
Government: We’ll assess your needs in three months time. Sometimes you are eligible for a ladder.
Doctor: Can you keep a diary about you experiences in the hole?
Another special needs parent: I see you, I am coming down, I’ve been there and know how to get out and I won’t let you do it alone!

I met Alina when I was in a deep, deep hole myself. I felt lost, misunderstood, I had an enormous fear of the future and was working on some traumas from my own early childhood.
Alina not only got down to my hiding place with me, she brought material and instructions how to build a ladder, she made me trust myself to build it and she pushed me to finally climb out and face the world.
With her overwhelming positivity, her background as a Psychologist and a Coach, her empathy and warmth, she helped me face my biggest fears, fight them and overcome them. Yes, they are still there, I am still me, but I am someone who faces difficulties now and can handle anything life throws my way!
I feel truly blessed to have met Alina. If you yourself, dear reader, feel stuck, feel down, feel in need of the proverbial ladder, Alina will be there with her tools, her big smile and her warm heart, to get you out and send you on your own beautiful path.
